Movie première of “Taped”

Last night I went to the première of the Dutch movie “Taped“. I received an invitation from my friends at Independent Films for attending this red carpet event.

The movie is an action-packed thriller about a couple with some marriage-issues, trapped in Argentina. You should see it for yourself, if you are in The Netherlands!

The event was held at the famous Tuschinski theater, where the movie-industry incrowd gathered in black-tie to see the movie, network and enjoy some drinks.

Ferris Bueller

Since you can’t always write about the newest, coolest, most newsworthy items, it’s sometimes good to step back to the past.

One of my favourite movies of all times is ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’. This movies was released in December 1986 and was a major success.

But there’s this thing about having a favourite movie; there are 2 kinds of favourite movies:

1. The movie you can see over-and-over again and still enjoy, for example ‘Home Alone’.
2. The movie that you can see only once in 10 years or so, because you want to keep it special, you don’t want to ruin the mystery about the movie, the glamour, the magic.

Ofcourse, ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ falls in category 2.

I think that a lot of people like ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’, but I’m not too sure of it, the rating on IMDB is good though. However, the movie is dated. So if you see the movie now for the first time, you probably find it shitty. But I would love to see it. It’s that time of the decade, to watch this incredible movie.

“The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It’s a good non-specific symptom; I’m a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh… you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor’s office. That’s worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you’re bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It’s a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.”
